We helped the Portland area's largest community land trust make their online property more user friendly and accessible.

Organization Background

Proud Ground is one of the nation’s leading Community Land Trusts. It makes homes permanently affordable by retaining ownership of the land on which homes are built. They also develop new properties with the goal of creating opportunities for homeownership among working class Oregonians.

In 2025, we reskinned Proud Ground’s website with the goal of giving their clients an intuitive, straightforward, professsional user experience.

Restyling and Reorganizing the Site

Proud Ground already had a website with a robust body of content set up in Squarespace, but users were getting lost trying to find the content they needed. We reorganized the site to create more clear user journey and straighforward navigation. We also provided light restyling based on their existing, vibrant brand.

Advanced Filtering for Home Sales

Proud Ground sells homes of all types throughout the Portland Metro area and beyond. Homebuyers could find homes for sale on the Proud Ground site but couldn’t narrow down the list based on their specific needs. We built in the capability to filter homes based on price, bedroom count, location…everything you would expect from a traditional, commercial, home realty site.

Effortless Translation and Accessibility Compliance

When we came on the scene, Proud Ground had already pinpointed an application that could translate the content on their site into an broad array of languages, and make content accessible to users with varying support needs. We worked with programmers at ReciteMe to integrate their software into the site, keeping an eye out for styling and performance issues.
